Toyota D22 mid-size SUV to be revealed in India on July 1, expected to be called Hyryder

Toyota India will debut its new mid-size SUV for the Indian market on July 1.

The new SUV, so far codenamed the D22, is expected to be named the Toyota Hyryder and will also spawn a Maruti Suzuki derivative soon after.

Spy images show that the new Toyota SUV will be about the same size as its Korean rivals, the Hyundai Creta and the Kia Seltos.

The heavily camouflaged test mules seem to carry a wide and upright stance, a favourite in this segment.

The bodywork should be fairly straightforward with a focus on interior room.

There also seems to be sizeable ground clearance with the 17-inch wheels that these test mules seem to be riding on.

A notable observation is that there seem to be sizeable differences in frontal styling between Toyota and Maruti Suzuki version.

At the rear, expect to see vertical LEd lighting, a blocky bootlid and chunky cladding.
